Le Berceau des Sens is the best-known restaurant of the Lausanne Hotel School. Starred in the Michelin Guide, it wins over with its authenticity and quality.
Le Berceau des Sens
Gastronomy at the Lausanne Hotel School
The EHL bistro is first discovered during a mocktail tasting jury, with drinks prepared by first-year students. The school’s kitchens then open up during a Christmas event (in French). All that remains is to discover the school’s starred restaurant, for a memorable evening. In 2019, Le Berceau des Sens became the first school restaurant in Switzerland to earn a Michelin star. At 7:30 pm, the beautiful beige-toned dining room welcomes guests. Once seated, the menu arrives. Two seasonal menus are already mouth-watering.

An Academic Meal
Le Berceau des Sens
The evening starts with an alcohol-free cocktail. During the visit, these creations are made with Newby (in French) teas. An amuse-bouche and bread accompany the drink and whet the appetite. As a starter, a lovely octopus dish is flawless. Still from the sea, the main course features a delicious half lobster tail. Beautifully plated, it proves just as indulgent. A few pieces of cheese and a blackcurrant jelly extend the savoury pleasure. Dessert pairs honey with a beer ice cream. A surprising delicacy that rounds off the meal perfectly.

EHL, a World-Renowned School
Founded in Lausanne in 1893, EHL is considered the first hotel school in the world. Every year, it trains students from many countries. Its campus, in Chalet-à-Gobet, brings together classrooms and training restaurants. Le Berceau des Sens is its gastronomic showcase. Students handle the service and part of the cooking there, supervised by experienced chefs. Each meal thus becomes a true real-life exercise.
Le Berceau des Sens ; A Zen Evening
