The Sweet ML biscuit maker specialises in artisan shortbread biscuits decorated with royal icing.
Sweet ML
Royal Biscuits
The Sweet ML workshop presents itself as the first Swiss company specialising in personalised biscuits. Its story began in 2017, in its founder’s kitchen. The workshop then moved to Cossonay, before settling permanently in Écublens. Since August 2021, the company has occupied a modern triplex with professional equipment. A dedicated team works there alongside the founder.

Gourmet, Imaginative Shortbread
Sweet ML ; Creativity Without Limits
Marie-Laure Balzarini’s creative world blends sweetness, pastel colours and top-quality ingredients. The biscuit maker works with local producers to obtain natural ingredients. This choice guarantees high-value products. Each biscuit serves as a canvas for a unique decoration, following themes and seasons. The range of decorated biscuits thus knows no limits when it comes to innovation. There are also shortbreads topped with a rectangle of milk or dark chocolate. They offer a perfect alternative to those sold in supermarkets.

Royal Icing, an Art of Precision
Royal icing is made with egg white, icing sugar and a few drops of lemon. Smooth and glossy, it hardens as it dries and allows very fine decorations. Its name is said to be linked to the wedding cakes of the British royal family. It also traditionally decorates Christmas biscuits and gingerbread. Mastering it requires patience and precision. Every detail is piped, line after line.
Sweet ML ; A Sweet Discovery
Sweet ML’s world was discovered at a makers’ market in Vufflens-le-Château. Its biscuits win you over from the first bite. Since then, several of its addresses have been visited with the same indulgent pleasure. Following its work closely confirms the quality of its creations every time. At the Écublens workshop, when time allows, each visit leads to a wonderful exchange.

This biscuit maker is well worth a visit for the quality of its products and the passion that drives it. You also find a taste for a job well done. Hard to bite into its biscuits just once without coming back. For other artisan biscuits, Beurre & Cacao (in French) delights in Remaufens. The madeleines of Maison Galatà (in French) are also tempting. Nearby, in Crissier, the Épicerie Fine du Millennium offers chocolates and homemade pastries (all in French).
