This family business brings together a lovely range of creative homemade sweets made on site. Christine Kehren first launched the biscuit shop, later joined by her daughter Caroline. The shop adjoins the production workshop, a guarantee of freshness. On one side, biscuits with flavours each more original than the last. On the other, chocolate bars.

In addition to indulgent treats, Beurre & Cacao has a bulk corner. Anyone can bring their own container to fill with biscuits. A small responsible gesture that is always welcome. The biscuits thus travel without unnecessary packaging. The chocolate bars are all brushed by hand. The text written on them can be personalised endlessly. A lovely gift idea for chocolate lovers. For other artisan biscuits, the royal icing shortbreads from Sweet ML are also worth a visit.

Beurre & Cacao ; What to Do in the Region

Remaufens is in the Veveyse, at the gateway to Gruyère. The region is perfect for a gourmet day out. The medieval village of Gruyères and its castle are a short drive away. Its demonstration dairy shows how the famous cheese is made. Cocoa lovers then continue to Broc and the chocolate museums (in French). Enough to fill a basket with local treats.

Beurre & Cacao ; Sweet Flavours

The French-speaking Swiss press made this lovely shop known. For lovers of chocolate and treats, that is all it takes to push open its doors. On arrival, sweet scents tickle the nostrils. Inside, a whole world of sweetness unfolds. The friendly staff offer a taste of a few treats before choosing. Between the simple, effective packaging, choosing takes time in this little paradise. The vin cuit and ginger biscuits finally win the day. Vin cuit, a Fribourg speciality, brings an inimitable caramelised sweetness. A subtle blend that thrills the taste buds. A favourite address, to return to with pleasure.
