Maison Buet, in Lausanne, embodies the quintessence of indulgence and artisan know-how.
Maison Buet
The Story of the Bakery and Chocolate Shop
It all began in 2000, when Anita and Laurent Buet took over two establishments in the heart of Lausanne. Passionate about flavours and sweets, the couple created a business in their own image. With solid training in pastry and confectionery, they wanted to share their passion with the public.

In 2018, after 19 years of success, the Confiserie became Maison Buet. Expansion, a team of 35 staff and a renewed identity: the house modernised. Every detail, from the creations to the spaces, aims to win over food lovers.
A Modern Transformation
The Revival of Maison Buet
Maison Buet’s emblematic shop has had a makeover. Out with the old-fashioned style, in with a bright, contemporary atmosphere. At 6 rue Grand-Saint-Jean, it charms with its light wood, large windows and friendly atmosphere. Its revisited graphic identity reflects the excellence and creativity of the house. A second shop also welcomes food lovers on rue Haldimand.

Maison Buet ; Good to Know
The house has two addresses in central Lausanne, on rue du Grand-Saint-Jean and rue Haldimand. Both are in the pedestrian area, a few minutes from the Palud. The café lets you enjoy a pastry or a hot chocolate (in French) on site. The boxes of chocolates also make lovely gifts. To compare styles, other Lausanne chocolate shops (in French) are just a stone’s throw away.
Creations That Made Buet Famous
A Passion for Craftsmanship
In 2019-2020, Maison Buet was named the official chocolatier of the city of Lausanne. An award that testifies to its expertise. Its local specialities include the Cloches de la Cathédrale and the Hérissons de Sauvabelin, a nod to the famous Lausanne woods (in French). During the visit, it is time for tasting: creamy hot chocolate, tasty bread rolls and irresistible chocolate treats. The tea room also offers around ten different hot chocolates. Each creation perfectly illustrates this quest for excellence.
Transparency and quality are fundamental pillars of the house. The carefully selected ingredients guarantee exceptional products, true to its artisan philosophy.

Breads, pastries or chocolates: this Lausanne address is a must for all food lovers. The passion for the craft can be felt in every bite. One of the best artisans in the region! The house is also part of the ChocoTour offered by Lausanne Tourisme.
