A Journey of Authentic Flavours

Labo Gelateria ; Traditional Ice Cream

Many people know how to make ice cream, but Malou is committed to preserving the tradition passed on by her former mentor, Luigi. He used to delight Lausanne with his famous Gelateria 1900 shop. Working with local, seasonal ingredients, Malou elevates this know-how with precision and passion. She also adds a personal touch inspired by her travels, while respecting the authenticity of the tradition. A perfect balance between heritage and creativity.

Labo Gelateria ; Gelato or Ice Cream?

Italian gelato differs from classic ice cream in several ways. It contains less fat and incorporates less air during churning. Its texture is therefore denser and silkier. It is also served at a slightly higher temperature, which enhances the flavours. Original flavours, such as black sesame or matcha, benefit fully from this. After an ice cream, a coffee break can be found among the cafés of Lausanne (in French).

Labo Gelateria ; Summer Treats

Ice cream is good, but with flavours that take you travelling, it is even better. The bolder the tastes, the greater the pleasure. Labo Gelateria thus naturally becomes a favourite gelateria. On the ice cream side, the star flavours are kulfi, matcha, azuki and mint-chocolate. The star remains black sesame. A unique flavour, so perfect in the mouth that you could eat it every day. On the sorbet side, red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry win everyone over.

This shop wins hearts and taste buds, far beyond a simple taste experience. Every visit is a true sensory journey. The quality of the ingredients and the inventiveness of the flavours make each ice cream a unique discovery. Classics are creatively revisited. Flavours from elsewhere, for their part, awaken memories of travels and adventures. Another Lausanne ice cream maker, La Bise (in French) is worth a visit. In Ouchy, an ice cream goes perfectly with a stroll by the lake (in French).
