Stepping into the Experimental Cocktail Club means entering a cocktail refuge in the heart of Paris.
Experimental Cocktail Club
Speakeasy and Cocktail Bar in Paris
In 2007, three childhood friends, Olivier Bon, Pierre-Charles Cros and Romée de Goriainoff, came across an empty shopfront on Rue Saint-Sauveur. They immediately sensed it could become the bar of their dreams. Without knowing it, they were about to write a new chapter of Parisian hospitality. At the time, cocktail bars were still rare in the capital. With its secret-hideout atmosphere, the Experimental Cocktail Club quickly came to life. Guests flocked there, won over by gin and tequila, one cocktail at a time.

A Phenomenal Bar
Experimental Cocktail Club ; A Must-Visit Spot
The bar quickly went beyond being a simple cocktail bar. It became a real phenomenon, a must for lovers of Paris nightlife. Its success rests on several key elements, which transformed the city’s bar scene.
First asset: an innovative approach to pricing. Unlike many upmarket venues, the bar offers affordable prices. It thus attracts a varied clientele, from regulars to newcomers. Second asset: bold flavour combinations. The Club’s mixologists, known for their creativity and skill, concoct unique cocktails.

The Speakeasy, a Legacy of Prohibition
The word speakeasy comes from the United States, during Prohibition, between 1920 and 1933. Alcohol was banned, and secret bars hid behind ordinary façades. You had to speak quietly so as not to attract attention. Opened in 2007, the Experimental Cocktail Club played a big part in the revival of Parisian cocktail bars. Its dim atmosphere and carefully crafted creations have since inspired many venues.
Experimental Cocktail Club ; A Timeless Refuge
In Paris, good addresses are sometimes discovered thanks to good advice. Anthony Boschat, a friend and then a bartender at the BAR du Beau-Rivage Palace (in French), recommended a few bars for a drink. This one could not be missed. Several cocktails on the menu passed the tasting test, without a single disappointment. The quality of the place and the atmosphere are simply perfect. A big favourite for its “refuge” vibe. A timeless moment, where the hours fly by without you noticing. A return visit is a must, to keep exploring the menu.
