In the former halls of Vevey, Les Ateliers resound with treats, between brasserie and restaurant.
A Couple Passionate About Gastronomy
Behind Vevey station, a former industrial hall houses a singular gourmet address. Its story begins with a couple with very different backgrounds.
Jean-Sébastien Ribette and Sahondra Verdan
Jean-Sébastien Ribette grew up in France and discovered the kitchen very young as a place of warmth. At eight, he made his first cake, then moved on to roasts. In this lively home, he learned that cooking means loving. The chef still passes this principle on to his teams. He asks them to cook as if their family were waiting in the dining room. Born in Madagascar, Sahondra Verdan grew up between Africa and Latin America. She loves moving, discovering and starting again elsewhere.

From the Auberge de la Veveyse to Les Ateliers in Vevey
Their paths crossed at the Conrad Hotel in Brussels. Trained in Paris, Jean-Sébastien Ribette worked in the kitchen. A student at the École hôtelière de Lausanne, Sahondra Verdan worked in accounting. The couple quickly joined forces and took over the Auberge de la Veveyse. The adventure lasted sixteen years and earned them a Michelin star and 16 points in the Gault & Millau. A new challenge then arose. The architect Giovanni Pezzoli offered them the stainless steel hall, the last remnant of the former Ateliers de Vevey. Moved by the place, they accepted without hesitation and left the star behind. The couple set off again on their true territory, that of taste and generosity. Les Ateliers opened its doors at the end of November 2018.

Les Ateliers Vevey ; Brasserie and Restaurant
The address brings together two culinary experiences under one roof. The Brasserie cultivates tradition, while the Restaurant explores the new.
Two Ways to Experience Cuisine
Rooted in simplicity, the Brasserie answers the Restaurant, which leans towards creativity. Much more than a concept, this duo embodies a vision of the world. Tradition feeds the imagination, and each dish becomes a field of expression. Each world offers a gourmet interlude devoted to the senses and fresh produce. Taste tells stories here that only the table can convey.

A Generous and Creative Cuisine
On the Brasserie side, a generous and comforting cuisine draws on childhood family meals. The simple, fresh dishes go straight to the heart. On the Restaurant side, surprise leads the way with daily menus. Seasonal produce and spontaneous inspiration guide each creation. Particular attention always goes to the desserts. Homemade ice creams, plays on chocolate and fruit variations turn each bite into a journey.

A Gourmet Dinner in Vevey
The discovery of this address comes from a delicious coincidence at Fleurs de Thé (in French). It opens the doors to an unforgettable gourmet experience.
A Surprise Menu at Les Ateliers in Vevey
The place combines refined cuisine and raw decor, which charm with their authenticity and boldness. The menu, as creative as it is indulgent, reveals memorable flavours. Chopped bluefin tuna, rocket and horseradish emulsion, gambero rosso and John Dory fillet follow one another. Roasted cod with black venere rice completes this seafood journey.

The dishes follow one another with elegance. A delicate mirabelle plum variation with its sorbet concludes the meal. A selection of petits fours gently ends the evening. Every detail counts at this address that makes you want to come back. Vevey definitely holds lovely gourmet surprises. A little further along the Riviera, Ladurée in Montreux (in French) extends the sweet journey.
