Discover Le Pointu, a charming bistro in the heart of Lausanne, an instant success with fresh, local produce.
Le Pointu
Bistro and Brunch in Central Lausanne
Le Pointu is the trendy bistro in Lausanne that everyone is talking about. Formerly the Café Le Lavaux, it owes its name to its pointed location, on the corner of Rue Neuve and Rue du Pré-du-Marché. An ideal location, attractive architecture and decor, and a tempting menu. After a few quick visits for a coffee and a crumble, I felt like staying longer. So I booked the brunch created by blogger Sofia Clara, a week in advance. Despite the booking, the room was almost full, but luckily two seats were still free.

Hearty, Homemade Brunches
Le Pointu ; Lausanne Treats
Lausanne’s love of brunch is undeniable. At 11:30, Le Pointu’s dining room is already buzzing. The warm atmosphere is instantly comforting. On the menu, the “Healthy Hangover” wins me over straight away. Its humorous name raises a smile, and its ingredients are tempting. On the plate: toast, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and fried eggs, all vegetarian. It comes with a latte macchiato with almond milk. After a short wait, the plate arrives, appetising and smelling delicious.

Le Pointu ; Good to Know
The bistro draws crowds, especially at weekend brunch time. Booking or arriving early is therefore recommended. The menu changes with the seasons and with deliveries from local producers. Every visit brings new discoveries. For a change, L’Impression Café (in French) and the Lily Bar brunch (in French) also offer great options in Lausanne.

A Tasty, Balanced Plate
That’s all it takes to dig in and savour this little slice of heaven. The phrase “explosion of flavours” takes on its full meaning here. The chef has mastered cooking and seasoning perfectly. The toast is crispy and the topping perfectly spiced. A real treat, down to the last bite. A balanced plate, ideal in cold weather, that warms body, heart and soul. A lovely moment, and certainly not my last visit to Le Pointu.
Le Pointu is much more than a simple bistro: it is a gastronomic experience that wins over lovers of authentic flavours. Nestled in the heart of Lausanne, this warm and welcoming place offers much more than culinary delights. The atmosphere is friendly, perfect for good times with friends or on your own.

For other brunches in Lausanne, Café de Prélaz (in French) and Bleu Lézard (in French) are also great addresses.
