Thibaud Villanova, aka Gastronogeek, is a French cook, author and content creator.
Gastronogeek ; The Chef of Pop Culture
Thibaud Villanova, from Bakery to Stove
The son of an artisan baker, Thibaud Villanova discovered a passion for cooking very early on. Rather than follow the path laid out for him, he became a chef. In 2014, he created Gastronogeek, a bold brand combining geek culture and gastronomy. The same year, he published his first recipe book, inspired by fantasy and pop culture. With forewords by Nicolas Beaujouan and chef Thierry Marx, the book launched a real phenomenon.

A Range of Recipes
Gastronogeek ; From Harry Potter to Food Wars
In September 2015, he published the second volume of the collection, called Le Livre des potions. This book offers no fewer than 70 recipes, created with talented bartender Stéphanie Simbo. Thibaud Villanova then ventured into the cuisine of the Star Wars saga with Star Wars Cantina.

His own cooking YouTube channel completes the adventure. Video tutorials take up his recipes there, alongside new creations. In May 2017, he added another string to his bow with a special edition devoted to TV series. For this project, he worked with food journalist Mathilde Bourge.

Some of his books are funded via the crowdfunding platform Ulule. These editions are then reserved for campaign backers. This is notably the case for La cuisine de Zelda, Food Wars and La cuisine des sorciers. La cuisine de Zelda was eventually released in bookshops.

The Complete Gastronogeek Collection
Gastronogeek ; Cooking 2.0
From YouTube to Instagram via Twitch
In February 2020, he launched his Twitch channel. He offers varied content there, from live reactions to cooking shows such as Top Chef or Le Meilleur Pâtissier. His approach always remains educational, with instructive technical commentary. On Instagram, he also shares his creations daily. In March 2022, he moved into podcasts with a series of episodes. His listeners can thus immerse themselves further in his culinary world.
In September 2022, Thibaud Villanova also took part as a guest judge on the show Objectif Top Chef. He brought his expertise and his view of the cooking world.
For lovers of gastronomy and pop culture, the Gastronogeek world perfectly blends the two. A rich, indulgent and eclectic experience. For more culinary reading, the British books (in French) gathered on the blog are also worth a look.
