Small in size but big on taste, Sopoong in Lausanne offers delicious, authentic Korean cuisine.
Sopoong ; A Small Korean Restaurant in Lausanne
Sopoong brings a Korean breeze to the heart of Lausanne. This small, warm restaurant focuses on sincere, homemade cuisine.
Homemade Korean Cuisine
The address nestles in the lively Rue Caroline district. The short, well-mastered menu brings together generous gimbap, colourful bibimbap and tasty dosirak. The recipes highlight fresh produce and balanced seasoning. A partnership with Labo Gelateria (in French) completes the offer with ice creams, ideal for a sweet touch.

Sopoong ; A Gourmet Picnic
The restaurant’s name means “picnic” in Korean. This address invites precisely a simple and friendly gourmet break.
Sopoong charms with its intimate, cosy and modern atmosphere, where every detail adds comfort and charm. A quick break or a comforting lunch is enjoyed here far from the urban bustle.
A Passionate Mother-Daughter Duo
In the kitchen, Nami passes on her know-how through each preparation. Her authentic recipes offer balanced flavours. Her daughter Rosine welcomes guests with simplicity and kindness. The whole offers a sincere and warm experience in the heart of Lausanne.

Kimchi and Bibimbap, Pillars of Korean Cuisine
Kimchi accompanies almost every meal in Korea. This chilli-fermented cabbage is traditionally prepared as a family before winter. This tradition, kimjang, has been on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list since 2013. Bibimbap is another great classic. Its name means “mixed rice”. Vegetables, meat and egg are placed on the rice, then mixed with a chilli sauce, gochujang.
Sopoong in Lausanne ; A Successful Korean Lunch
Long on a well-filled eat list, the address is discovered almost by chance. The meal lives up to every expectation.
In good company, the urge to taste the whole menu is immediately felt. On the vegetarian side, kimchijeon opens the meal. This kimchi pancake proves tasty and slightly crispy. The vegetarian bibimbap follows, with a balanced mix of rice and vegetables. An iced tea with a delicate corn flavour accompanies it all. The lunch goes off without a hitch.

Despite the small size of the place, Sopoong is well worth the detour. The warm and sincere welcome leaves an excellent memory. Still little known in Lausanne, the Korean cuisine on offer clearly deserves to be discovered. For other Asian flavours, the Japanese addresses in Lausanne (in French) are also worth the detour.
