A solid friendship, a shared passion, and there you have Ça passe Crème, a specialty coffee shop in Lausanne…
Ça passe Crème
Specialty Coffee in Lausanne
The Ça passe Crème adventure begins with a lovely friendship. Steeve and Davide met on their very first day at the École hôtelière de Lausanne.
In summer 2014, freshly graduated, Steeve and Davide went their separate ways. Steeve left to work in hospitality in China, while Davide went into the restaurant business in Lausanne. Despite the distance, their friendship endured and grew stronger over time. Their conversations led them to a shared conviction: to become entrepreneurs in hospitality in the near future.
In April 2016, Steeve joined Davide in London, where he was pursuing his career with a large restaurant group. This London reunion marked a decisive turning point. Davide gave Steeve the London Coffee Guide, convinced it could inspire the concept of their future business.

Specialty Coffee
Ça passe Crème ; A Pioneer of Specialty Coffee
After exploring London’s coffee shops, Ça passe Crème opened its first address on 1 June 2018. The small room quickly drew great enthusiasm. Social media and the press soon picked up on the phenomenon. Among the pioneers of specialty coffee in Lausanne, the house prepares each drink with care, to release all its aromas.
Given its success, the café moved a few steps away, on the same street, to a larger and more personalised space. Every detail contributes to a warm and welcoming visual identity. True to their vision, Steeve and Davide keep specialty coffees at the heart of the menu. They also offer a coffee of the month, often created with other culinary players. The café even features among the best coffee shops in the world, according to a ranking reported by Le Temps.

Introductory Coffee Course
The introductory course teaches the basics of preparing a quality espresso. It takes place right in the coffee shop and starts with a short presentation of coffee. The main part focuses on an extraction workshop. Participants use a professional La Marzocco machine, as well as Rocket Espresso home equipment. An ideal experience for exploring the art of coffee.
An express course was even an opportunity to give it a try, some time ago now. An intensive exercise that reveals all this very special expertise.

Pushing open the door of this outstanding café means entering a kind, welcoming space, steeped in passionate know-how. Every visit remains a constant pleasure for the taste buds. Here, a specialty coffee is not gulped down in a hurry at the corner of a table. It is a true experience, a taste exploration you want to repeat.

An outstanding address to highly recommend, always looking to innovate and offering an exceptional selection of drinks. In the same area, Sleepy Bear Coffee (in French) also delights coffee lovers.
