A walk through Lausanne in autumn, among golden leaves and colourful parks.
Lausanne in Autumn
Parks in Autumn Colours
On a sunny Sunday, a walk through Lausanne confirms that autumn has truly arrived. Dressed in orange, red and yellow, the trees put on a striking show. These colours make you want to take out your smartphone for a few photos. In the parks, every tree reveals a new picture. On the ground, a carpet of orange leaves completes this perfect setting. With the Indian summer, a carefree stroll becomes a real creative pleasure. Enough to inspire a pretty autumn table (in French) back at home too.

A Green City
Lausanne in Autumn ; The City’s Most Beautiful Parks
This time, the choice falls on the Parc de Milan, next to the Botanical Garden. But Lausanne is full of other parks that are just as magnificent in autumn. Each has its charm, for a quiet walk, a photo shoot or a moment in nature. From Mon-Repos to the Hermitage, by way of Sauvabelin and its peaceful lake, there is no shortage of choice. Everywhere, autumn colours turn the landscape into a true work of art. Each park invites you to relax and explore, for a walk that is always unique.

Three Parks to Discover in Autumn
The Parc de Mon-Repos surrounds an elegant 18th-century villa and the Federal Supreme Court. Its tall trees offer superb colours. On the heights of the city, the Parc de l’Hermitage accompanies the foundation of the same name, devoted to fine arts. Its view of the cathedral and the lake is remarkable. Higher still, the Sauvabelin woods are home to a small lake and a 35-metre wooden tower.
Lausanne is the blog’s favourite city: every street, park and panorama tells a story. Yet this kind of walk is also possible in other big cities. Geneva, Zurich or cities further afield also have their green parks and picturesque neighbourhoods. Exploring a city through its green spaces is a universal idea. Every place offers its seasonal colours and little wonders to photograph.

After the walk, nothing beats a hot drink to warm up. A Pumpkin Spice Latte, for example, in one of the best cafés in Lausanne (in French). And as an alternative, a walk through Lausanne in winter (in French) in the Parc de Sauvabelin.
