Cyril Lignac coming to Lausanne for chocolate week: what a surprise!
Cyril Lignac
A Mystery Guest at Métropole Lausanne
The Métropole Lausanne shopping centre announces a mystery guest for its chocolate week. At the time, the advert almost goes unnoticed. Then a call from Valérie, a friend, changes everything. Overjoyed, she breaks the news: the great Cyril Lignac is coming to share his passion for a few hours! The mystery is solved.
A few days before the event, impatience grows. Valérie has followed the chef’s career for several years. For her, this meeting promises to be a truly emotional moment.
The Big Day
Cyril Lignac ; A Chef for Easter
Saturday 8 April 2017 finally arrives. Off to the shopping centre, a good hour early. A small, silent queue has already formed. Chatting helps pass the time, in a slightly feverish atmosphere. A presenter does his best to liven things up. Then the chef finally arrives to a round of applause. All smiles, the great man takes his seat and answers the presenter’s questions.

Cyril Lignac ; A Quick, Moving Meeting
After about twenty minutes of interview and an ovation from the crowd, it’s time for the meet-and-greet. Valérie is among the first in line. A few words, a big smile, an autograph: her dream finally comes true. Right behind her, it’s impossible not to share her emotion. She is almost walking on air.
Then comes the moment to stand face to face with Cyril Lignac. After years of following him on the show “Le Meilleur Pâtissier”, it makes a strong impression. Next to this cooking pro, it’s hard not to feel very small. An autograph, a handshake, and the smile spreads to me too. All that’s left is to wait for the two other friends in the group.
The outcome of this meeting with chef Cyril Lignac is very positive. And what a joy to see Valérie meet a chef she has admired for years!

La Pâtisserie ; Cyril Lignac’s Sweet Book
For any foodie who admires Cyril Lignac’s work, his sweet book is a real favourite. La Pâtisserie is a true bible of indulgent flavours. Its recipes and photos make your mouth water. If the book tempts you less, his chocolate shop in Paris is also worth a visit. A stop at this temple of indulgence is a must on my next trip to Paris.

The Métropole is also home to the Tour Bel-Air (in French), Switzerland’s first skyscraper. To extend the pleasure, here are the chocolate shops of Lausanne (in French).
