An invitation from Schilliger Garden Center to discover its Christmas decorations: the charm works instantly.
Schilliger Garden Center
A Bit of History
Before the stroll, a little history. The Schilliger adventure began in 1945 in Gland, with the construction of the first garden centre. Maurice Schilliger founded it with his wife, a trained florist. The family business grew and opened another address in French-speaking Switzerland, in Matran. Each shop offers decorations, plants and items for the home. The largest remains the one in Gland.

The Christmas Market
Schilliger Garden Center in Festive Dress
Inside, the shop holds plenty of surprises. For the occasion, it is dressed entirely in Christmas colours. Each area presents its own carefully staged decorations. From classic baubles to snow-covered artificial trees, everything invites you to dream. The magic of Christmas lives on here as it should. The Schilliger family makes a point of working with various organisations. On average, it takes a year of in-house work to prepare the Christmas programme. Every year, the shop also adopts a carefully chosen theme.

Schilliger ; A Taste of Indulgence
Café Agnès and Delicatessen
During the visit, a break at Café Agnès is a must. Set in one of the greenhouses, it serves fresh, indulgent and generous food. The centre focuses on eating well, with organic produce. The café’s decoration fits perfectly with the rest of the place. A little further on, a delicatessen will delight food lovers.

The Greenhouses of Schilliger Garden Center
As its name suggests, this place is above all a garden centre. Its greenhouses house a multitude of classic and exotic plants. Impossible to leave without a pretty bit of greenery, for yourself or as a gift.

Located on the Route Suisse, between Nyon and Rolle, the Gland shop is easy to reach from Lausanne or Geneva. An ideal visit to find inspiration before the festive season. Decorating the tree, setting a pretty table or finding a gift: every wish finds its answer. Families will enjoy strolling through the aisles, where young and old marvel at the displays. Between two aisles, Café Agnès offers a welcome treat. A seasonal outing that immerses you, for an afternoon, in all the magic of Christmas.
And for an alternative, here is the garden centre and its spring inspiration (in French).
