Visiting the Domaine de Bel-Air means getting close to more than forty animal species, including capybaras.
Domaine de Bel-Air ; A Refuge Turned Park
On the heights of Le Landeron, a former refuge for wild animals has become a human-scale park. Animal welfare guides every decision here.
The Le Landeron Animal Park
The park covers nearly 4.5 hectares, in the heart of a 32-hectare farm estate. Each species enjoys a large outdoor space and an indoor shelter suited to every season. Here, the animal decides. The nocturnal porcupines are never forced out, even to satisfy visitors’ curiosity. Depending on their grazing or welfare needs, the residents regularly change enclosures. This rotation guarantees a lively and respectful environment. Information boards guide the visit, but a little surprise can always appear around an enclosure.

Zoo, Refuge and Maze in the Canton of Neuchâtel
The place is not limited to animals. Farming, solar energy and leisure come together here in a resolutely sustainable approach.
Domaine de Bel-Air ; A Sustainable Farm Estate
The site runs almost autonomously thanks to rainwater harvesting and solar energy. More than 70 solar panels and batteries ensure extended autonomy. Hay and straw are produced on site, in a short supply chain approach. Even in rainy or scorching weather, a playground and lovely walks await families. In summer, a maize maze completes the visit. With more than forty species, from the alpaca to the muntjac, encounters with the residents are guaranteed.

Domaine de Bel-Air ; A Sunday Refuge
Some Sundays invite you to slow down and reconnect with the essentials. An escape to the heights of Le Landeron perfectly answers this wish.
Among the Animals
Sunday remains a special day to explore Switzerland and slow the pace. Simple and classic, the visit to the park proves incredibly soothing.

Between meadows and enclosures, the place offers a timeless moment, as close as possible to the animals. Peaceful and endearing, the capybaras steal the show on this Sunday outing. Nature is everywhere, generous and alive. The maze still awaits a future visit. This interlude is perfect for a gentle Sunday. Further south, Yverdon-les-Bains (in French) offers another lovely stop on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel.
