Choc’o’Clock ; Between Watchmaking and Chocolate in Biel
Discovering the Biel Region
Exploring the canton of Bern: that is the promise of the Choc’o’Clock package stay. Designed by the tourist office Jura & Trois-Lacs, it combines watchmaking, nature and indulgence. The programme begins in the old town of Biel. It continues with the interactive museums OMEGA Museum and Planet Swatch. A break on the Schüss Island precedes a night at the Hôtel Art Déco Elite in Biel. The next day, a walk in the Taubenloch Gorge opens the day. Finally, the Camille Bloch chocolate factory rounds off this remarkable weekend.

Culture and Indulgence
Choc’o’Clock ; A Cultural Saturday
From Lausanne, Biel is just over an hour’s drive away. The journey offers beautiful landscapes, especially when the first autumn colours appear. The day begins with two hours of walking in the old town of Biel. Its lanes, its facades and its special atmosphere are worth the detour. Its mixed architecture, blending eras, is what gives it charm. For lunch, Lokal welcomes guests in a friendly, warm setting. The place charms as much as the food.

After this gourmet moment, it is off to the heart of Biel to discover the Cité du Temps. Its architecture was designed by Shigeru Ban, winner of the Pritzker Prize. This place brings together the OMEGA and Swatch worlds. Even watchmaking novices broaden their general knowledge there. The visit proves playful and full of discoveries. In the late afternoon, Schüss Island, a park near the museums, invites relaxation. In the evening, St-Gervais serves dinner in a pleasant setting. This lovely restaurant is a true Biel institution. The night is spent at the Hôtel Art Déco Elite, a magnificent four-star hotel in the city centre.

Choc’o’Clock ; An Indulgent Sunday
After a good breakfast at the hotel, it is time for walking shoes to explore the Taubenloch Gorge. This pleasant walk of about an hour alternates waterfalls, bridges, forest and rock faces. Easy to access, the walk lets you fully enjoy nature. At noon, the Restaurant du Cerf, in Sonceboz-Sombeval, offers a renowned gourmet table. This unusual establishment offers a lovely break in the Bernese Jura.

As the weekend draws to a close, the route heads to the Camille Bloch chocolate factory in Courtelary. Founded in 1929, the company is known for its famous Ragusa and Torino. For about two hours, a playful tour reveals the secrets of chocolate making. Sweet lovers, young and old, happily join in.
